Navdeep Public School celebrated its 17th Annual Day and Prize distribution on 8th February, 2020 with great elation and gusto. The Chief Guest of the day was Rev. Dr. Sunil Sesadima, OFM Cap., Rector and Superior, Bodhi Institute of Theology, Kollam and Head of the Department of Scripture. Dr. R. Sindhu, Scientist at Microbial Processes and Technology Division, CSIR – National Institute for Inter Disciplinary Science and Technology, Trivandrum was the Guest of Honour.

Chairman, Mr. Cletus Austin presided over the function. Educational Consultant Mrs. Maya Girish, Senior Principal Mrs. Preetha Cletus and Ms. Sreeni Vasan Syama graced the occasion. The unique and inexhaustible aspect of life was presented through this year’s theme ‘Parivarthana’ . The budding talents of Navdeep entertained everyone with the magical elixir of music and dance. The grandeur of the finale left the audience enthralled.

Farewell Day for the Students
of Class XII

The students of class XI hosted a farewell function for class XII on 16th January, 2020 with great enthusiasm & nostalgia. Elegantly dressed, the outgoing students entered the school premises at 3pm. The event commenced by invoking the blessings of God. The Chairman Mr. Cletus Austin delivered the presidential address which was followed by inspirational speeches by Senior Principal Mrs. Preetha Cletus and Principal Ms. Sreeni Vasan Syama. 

The event was made memorable with the many memories shared by the senior students in their speeches. Special mementos were presented to the outgoing students. The candle lighting ceremony was a solemn function where the seniors handed over the lamp of knowledge and wisdom to the juniors. The formal part of the function ended with the showering of blessings on the outgoing students by their teachers.

The evening proceeded with a ramp walk by class XII students. It was a fun–filled contest where Gopika was crowned as Mrs. Navdeep and Chanthu as Master Navdeep. This was followed by captivating dance performance by class XI and XII students. The function ended with a wonderful and appetizing farewell dinner. There was a lot of emotion and nostalgia as students took photographs around their Alma mater where they had spent their childhood.

Christmas Celebrations 2019

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, the students celebrated the festival with joy and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest of the day was Father Babu Robert, OFM (cap.), Manager Assisi Press, Tillery, Kollam. He explained the significance of the festival through interaction with students. As a part of the celebrations, Christmas tree and crib competitions were held. Children danced merrily to the joyful tunes. The boundless Joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children.

Children's Day

As a tribute to our great leader Jawahar Lal Nehru and his love for the children, Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th November, 2019 with fun and frolic at Navdeep. A special assembly was held to mark the day. The teachers made the day memorable by organizing different cultural programmes for children.

It was a fun filled day for the students as they watched their teachers performing scintillating dances, drama and singing melodious songs. Chocolates were distributed among the students . Principal Mrs. Sreeni Vasan Syama and Directors Mr. Arvind Cletus and Mr. Ashwin Cletus greeted the students on the occasion and exhorted them to follow the path of honesty and hard work as shown by Pandit Nehru.

Anti-Drug Day
Vimukthi - 2019

“Life is a precious gift, don’t waste it on drugs. Put it out before it puts you out.”

In order to raise awareness among students regarding harmful effects of drugs, an Anti- Drug day was observed on 14th November, 2019 in cooperation with “VIMUKTHI’’ an awareness programme by Kerala State Excise Department . The children wore badges bearing the message "Addiction free Kerala". A presentation by the students of class XI on "Drug abuse - Its ill effects and remedies" was highly informative. It helped the students to become aware of the detrimental effects of drugs.

Annual Sports Meet - 2019

Sports and games inculcate the ambition to excel in all fields and create a sense of fair play. The School campus had a vibrant and competitive atmosphere on October 11, 2019 as the School celebrated its Annual Sports Meet. The Chief Guest of the day was Mrs. Shylaja Mohan, Associate Professor Lekshmi Bhai National Education,Trivadrum. In her address, she emphasised on the importance of sports and applauded the institution on its remarkable achievement in the field of education.

The programme began with the Inter House March Past which was followed by energetic drill performances. The highlight of the day was the 4x100m Inter house relay. Enterprise House emerged as the Champion of the Sports Meet.

As a part of the event, an inter house football match was organised in the afternoon. Enterprise House won the match defeating Endurance House by one goal.

Investiture Ceremony - 2019

"Leaders are not born but made by their life experiences."

The students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow. To inculcate leadership qualities in our students and give them a feel of the functioning of the administrative body, the School Cabinet was formed and the Investiture Ceremony was held on 5th July, 2019 at the Stone Queen Pavilion. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. A. Prateep Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kollam. School Principal Ms. Sreeni Vasan Syama welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Mr. Cletus Austin, Chairman - Navdeep Educational Trust. In his Presidential Address, the Chairman elaborated on the year's theme, 'Be Unique and Shine'.

The Chief Guest bestowed the badges on the office bearers of this academic year. He reminded the students about their responsibilities towards the maintenance of discipline in the School and to assist the management and teachers in their pursuit of excellence.

Mrs. Preetha Cletus, the Senior Principal wished the newly elected leaders in their ventures. The event ended on a high note with the prefects promising to do their best in the roles assigned to them.

International Day of Yoga

The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on 21st June, 2019 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. A special yoga session was organized in which 250 students and 10 teachers gave an impressive demonstration of the different asanas like Pranayama and Meditation under the guidance of the yoga instructor.

Activities like yoga quiz and yoga debate were also organized as a part of the celebration . The main aim was to raise awareness and ignite a passion for fitness and yoga among the students.

Environment Day - Greening the Blue

World Environment Day was celebrated with great gusto and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest was our honouarble Chairman Mr. Cletus Austin. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he urged the students to adopt green ways of life . The students of class X presented a programme on the theme, "Air pollution".

The highlight of the day was a skit 'Nature’s Revenge'. To add more colour to the day, a power-point presentation on 'Endangered Species' was displayed by the students . As part of the programme, saplings were planted on the school premises. The programme created awareness among students to contribute their best to make the planet a greener place.
